Elena Hale

Elena joined Piper Communications in 2022 and serves as Director of Media & Stakeholder Relations, helping clients turn complex issues into clear, compelling stories. Her work spans public relations planning, stakeholder management, media auditing, project management, writing, content creation, and media pitching strategy – often all before the second cup of coffee.

Before joining Piper, Elena spent seven years in Washington, DC, working across Congress, public policy, and strategic communications. Her experience includes legislative and communications roles with Senator Marsha Blackburn (TN), Congressman Tim Walberg (MI), the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and global law firm Arnold & Porter. Throughout her career, she has focused on the energy and technology sectors, advising senior Members of Congress on complex legislative matters, drafting legislation and media materials, advancing policy objectives, and representing major companies’ interests at the highest levels of federal government.

A proud Michigan native, Elena earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Her Wolverine roots run deep, though she has graciously adopted her husband’s Tennessee Vols – proof that bipartisanship is still possible, at least in college sports.

Outside of work, Elena can often be found on a boat with family and friends, enjoying the lakes of Tennessee and Michigan, and making a strong case that life is better near the water.
