Overview
Metallurgical Engineering Trades Apprenticeship & Learning (METAL), led by IACMI, is an industry-driven initiative aimed at providing high-quality, hands-on training in the metalworking and manufacturing sectors. The program, created in 2023, is designed to address workforce development needs by offering comprehensive curricula in casting, forging and metallurgy, with an emphasis on automation and modern manufacturing technologies. Piper Communications was brought on to generate media coverage and increase awareness of the program, with the goal of continuously increasing the number of registrations and participants in the program.
Solution
Piper Communications provides media and public relations support for METAL, including crafting strategic messaging materials (press releases, media advisories, pitches and media kits), for mainstream and trade media coverage of the program and its increasing amount of university partnerships. Piper also schedules media and podcast interviews for METAL and partner representatives and facilitates on-site media engagement at METAL bootcamps and workshops.
